Welcome!

Let’s Get Started…

Congratulations on choosing to make your podcast profitable with PNS.

You’re now part of an elite group of people who use their podcast to actually grow their business.
(And not just pay out money to listen to the sound of their own voice)

With PNS, you’ll get direct access to your very own podcast production team who are here to help you achieve that.

The following pages will walk you through exactly what you’ll need to do to get everything in place during the launch phase. This means you can focus on your podcast and how to leverage it to grow your business… while we build the tech foundations.

The following pages don’t have to be linear. So you’ll be able to move through some of these processes while you’re waiting for other things to happen. eg: You should write your intro while you’re waiting for your gear to arrive.

Every time you complete a section - you’ll get an email from me.
The team and I will be around as much, or as little, as you need.

Get Your ‘6 Weeks To Launch’ Checklist

1. Accept the invite to your Slack team
We ask you to use Slack, so all our communication in one place. Our team members don’t have email addresses, so by using Slack we can ensure your engineer, writer and other team members can keep track of everything and you can benefit for a quick response time.

Download Slack to your phone and your computer. If you’re reading this, you’ve already been invited.
Just check your email and accept. Please note - you do not need to start your own Slack account. We’ve got this and it’s included in your investment with us.

Should you need them, here are the Slack download links

2. Accept the invite to your PNS Production Calendar

This is a google sheet, you’ve also already been invited to.
Just accept and then watch the explainer video below.
The production calendar is the backbone of how we manage your show and there are some things you need to know to ensure our team can perform their best for you. This is one of them…

3. Accept the invite Dropbox!

We’ve built a dropbox system just for your podcast and we’ve invited you. Last invite promise!
Just accept via the email and then watch the explainer video below. It shows you where everything lives and where you need to upload your podcast recordings.

The most important folders to you:

  • To Be Edited <— this is where you load your recorded episodes

  • Show Notes <— this is where you can download completed show notes to post to your website or use in social content (more on this later)

  • Guest Bio <— this is a subfolder within “show notes”, where you can upload your guests’ bios, their social links or anything that should go in the show notes for their particular episode. Please do not post guest bio information in Slack as it gets lost in the chats.

4. Write Your Show Description

This is a short paragraph explaining your show. It shows up in all places your podcast can be found. Your description should identify who the podcast is for (Target Market) and what is the single biggest result?

When you’re done, send what you’ve written to us in Slack!

The audio in the next step will also help you write this.

5. Plan Your Teaser / Set-Up Episode

Your teaser / set-up / trailer episode is an expanded version of your show description and does not count towards your batch of 10 shows. It only needs to be about 2-3 minutes long.

It’s a solo show and you need to plan and record it ASAP because without it, we can’t get the platforms ready for your launch date!

When listeners first discover you, they are asking themselves these three questions.
1. Is this interesting?
2. How do I know if I can trust you?
3. Is this right for me?

FAQ: Doing Seasons vs Weekly Show?

Takeaways:

  • Weekly epodes are better because you’re showing up at a regularly scheduled time to create a habit in the listener who then creates space in their weekly routine that includes hearing from you.

  • To avoid burnout, we recommend recording in batches. Plan 1-2 days/month to record 2-4 episodes at a time to stay ahead of schedule and also give yourself regular breaks from recording.
